Road Runner's Ride
by MariaLisa deMora
This is the pairing of a novella and short story set into the Rebel Wayfarers MC world featuring Kevin Hartley, Road Runner, and Kris Clarke, Goose. You’re going to want to read all about their alpha beginnings!
Full description:
Sexy as hell chef.
Rough and ready biker.
Controlling and determined … Dom?
What happens when we begin living out our dreams? Are you brave enough to push past society’s barriers to see who you are? Kevin is, and he’s willing to take us along on his path of discovery, promising to grant glimpses into secret worlds.
Short story in the Rebel Wayfarers MC book series, timeline matches book #10, Bones. Road Runner’s Ride was first released as an 18-installment serial sent out in my emailed newsletter. This version is greatly expanded, and I hope everyone enjoys seeing even more of Kevin and his Aurelie. Includes short story Never Settle. Goose’s story cried out to be told, and a one-sided short featuring Kris and Francine was originally published in one of the Biker Chicks anthology books. This version is expanded, too. Hope you enjoy this small vision into his part of the RWMC.
18+ due to explicit content.

MariaLisa deMora’s Road Runner's Ride is a captivating addition to the Rebel Wayfarers MC series, offering readers a deep dive into the lives of Kevin Hartley, known as Road Runner, and Kris Clarke, affectionately called Goose. This novella, paired with a short story, provides a rich tapestry of character exploration and thematic depth, set against the gritty backdrop of the motorcycle club world. The book is a compelling exploration of identity, self-discovery, and the courage to defy societal norms.
At the heart of Road Runner's Ride is the journey of Kevin Hartley, a character who is as complex as he is intriguing. Kevin is a chef, a biker, and a man on a path of self-discovery. The narrative delves into his multifaceted personality, exploring his roles and responsibilities within the Rebel Wayfarers MC. What stands out is Kevin's willingness to challenge societal expectations and embrace his true self, a theme that resonates throughout the novella. His journey is not just about personal growth but also about the courage to live authentically, a message that is both powerful and inspiring.
The novella also introduces readers to Kris Clarke, or Goose, whose story is equally compelling. Goose's narrative is woven into the fabric of the Rebel Wayfarers MC world, providing a nuanced perspective on loyalty, friendship, and the bonds that tie the club members together. The inclusion of Goose’s story, originally published in a Biker Chicks anthology, adds depth to the overall narrative, offering a glimpse into his life and the challenges he faces. This expanded version allows readers to connect with Goose on a more intimate level, understanding his motivations and desires.
One of the most striking aspects of Road Runner's Ride is its exploration of themes related to identity and self-acceptance. The novella challenges readers to consider what it means to live authentically and the courage it takes to break free from societal constraints. Kevin's journey is a testament to the power of self-discovery and the importance of embracing one's true self, regardless of societal expectations. This theme is further underscored by the dynamic between Kevin and his partner, Aurelie, whose relationship is a testament to the strength and resilience required to navigate the complexities of love and identity.
The narrative is enriched by deMora’s skillful character development. Kevin and Goose are portrayed with depth and nuance, their personalities and motivations intricately woven into the storyline. Kevin’s evolution from a man constrained by societal norms to one who embraces his true self is portrayed with sensitivity and insight. Similarly, Goose’s story adds layers to the narrative, providing a counterpoint to Kevin’s journey and highlighting the diverse experiences within the Rebel Wayfarers MC.
In terms of style, deMora’s writing is both engaging and evocative. Her ability to create vivid imagery and convey complex emotions is evident throughout the novella. The dialogue is sharp and authentic, capturing the essence of the characters and their world. The pacing is well-balanced, allowing for moments of introspection and action, keeping readers engaged from start to finish.
Comparatively, Road Runner's Ride stands out in the realm of motorcycle club fiction. While it shares thematic elements with works by authors like Kristen Ashley and Joanna Wylde, deMora’s focus on identity and self-discovery sets it apart. The novella’s exploration of personal growth and the courage to defy societal norms adds a layer of depth that is both refreshing and thought-provoking. The Rebel Wayfarers MC series, with its richly drawn characters and intricate plotlines, offers a unique perspective on the motorcycle club genre, making it a must-read for fans of the genre.
Overall, Road Runner's Ride is a compelling exploration of identity, self-discovery, and the courage to live authentically. MariaLisa deMora has crafted a narrative that is both engaging and thought-provoking, offering readers a glimpse into the lives of Kevin and Goose as they navigate the complexities of love, loyalty, and self-acceptance. The novella’s themes resonate on a universal level, making it a powerful addition to the Rebel Wayfarers MC series. For readers seeking a story that challenges societal norms and celebrates the courage to embrace one’s true self, Road Runner's Ride is an essential read.
